# Offer Suite vs ABConvert

Checked against ABConvert's own pages on 14 October 2026. Every statement about ABConvert links to the page it came from.

ABConvert is an A/B testing app for Shopify that compares "prices, discounts, shipping thresholds, pages, themes and checkout". It has been on the Shopify App Store since October 31, 2022. [ABConvert on the Shopify App Store, read 14 October 2026 (opens in a new tab)](https://apps.shopify.com/a-b-convert-price-a-b-test)

It evaluates "revenue per visitor, AOV, conversion and profit using your own product, shipping and transaction costs." [ABConvert on the Shopify App Store, read 14 October 2026 (opens in a new tab)](https://apps.shopify.com/a-b-convert-price-a-b-test)

Its offer tests are Shopify automatic discounts built through Shopify Functions, one offer type per test group, and a group's offer cannot be changed once the test is live. [ABConvert docs: offer test, read 14 October 2026 (opens in a new tab)](https://docs.abconvert.io/experiments/offer-test)

Offer Suite is not open yet. Everything below describes what is built and verified in its own code today; it can't be tried until brands are invited from the waitlist.

ABConvert and Offer Suite, side by side

| Question | ABConvert | Offer Suite |
| --- | --- | --- |
| What it is | An A/B testing app with eight test types: price, shipping, offer, URL redirect, template, theme, visual editor and checkout. [ABConvert documentation, read 14 October 2026 (opens in a new tab)](https://docs.abconvert.io/) | An offer engine for Shopify brands, run by their agents: offers are validated documents authored through an API and an MCP server, and bound to Shopify. |
| Pricing | Starter "$99 /month" up to 1,000 test orders ("+ $59 /1K test orders after"), Growth $199 up to 5,000, Scale $399 up to 15,000, Pro $599 up to 30,000; $74, $149, $299 and $449 a month on a yearly subscription; 14-day free trial. "Pay only for test orders — not your whole store." [ABConvert pricing, read 14 October 2026 (opens in a new tab)](https://www.abconvert.io/pricing) Its App Store listing puts the price test in Growth and the multi-market price test in Scale; "Checkout content, cart and upsell tests require Shopify Plus." [ABConvert on the Shopify App Store, read 14 October 2026 (opens in a new tab)](https://apps.shopify.com/a-b-convert-price-a-b-test) | Not published. Offer Suite is not open yet; brands join the waitlist. |
| What it measures | Orders, AOV, revenue per visitor and profit per visitor, with order-level profit computed as "Revenue - Product Cost - Shipping Cost - Transaction Fee". [ABConvert docs: revenue and profit metrics, read 14 October 2026 (opens in a new tab)](https://docs.abconvert.io/analytics/metrics-revenue-profit) | Forecast and realized profit per offer option, first orders and renewals apart, net of refunds, with cancelled orders excluded, by traffic source down to the ad. |
| Who renders the offer | It "injects a lightweight script into your Shopify theme" that assigns each visitor a test group, shows that group's version and tracks the visit to the order. [ABConvert documentation, read 14 October 2026 (opens in a new tab)](https://docs.abconvert.io/) | Your developers can render the buy box from the offer's data. With no developers, a merchant adds the Verified offer theme block in the Shopify theme editor and pastes an offer id. Either way, Offer Suite serves the offer and builds the Shopify cart. After the purchase, its extension can show one upsell on Shopify's post-purchase page, once the merchant picks Offer Suite for that page. |
| Costs | Product costs synced from Shopify (daily if you choose) or uploaded as a CSV, "your average shipping or fulfillment cost per order", and transaction fees as a percentage plus a fixed amount. [ABConvert docs: app settings, read 14 October 2026 (opens in a new tab)](https://docs.abconvert.io/configuration/settings) | Costs are a dated ledger: each order is costed at the costs in effect on its date. A later correction restates past orders in the current view, and the as-recorded view keeps what each order was booked with. |
| Agents and AI | Its MCP server "lets Claude Desktop, Claude Code, and other AI assistants create, launch, analyze, and end tests". [ABConvert MCP docs, read 14 October 2026 (opens in a new tab)](https://docs.abconvert.io/mcp/overview) | Agents create and publish offers through the API and MCP. Nothing goes live until a real Shopify cart charges what the offer promises. |

## Where ABConvert wins

- It tests far more than offers: prices, shipping, page templates, themes, page content and checkout. [ABConvert documentation, read 14 October 2026 (opens in a new tab)](https://docs.abconvert.io/)
- It targets tests by country, UTM source or customer type. [ABConvert on the Shopify App Store, read 14 October 2026 (opens in a new tab)](https://apps.shopify.com/a-b-convert-price-a-b-test)
- It is available today, with a 14-day trial, and its App Store listing shows Built for Shopify and a rating of 4.7 from 83 reviews. [ABConvert on the Shopify App Store, read 14 October 2026 (opens in a new tab)](https://apps.shopify.com/a-b-convert-price-a-b-test)
- An AI assistant can create, preview, launch, analyze and end its tests through its MCP server, for every test type but the visual editor. [ABConvert MCP docs, read 14 October 2026 (opens in a new tab)](https://docs.abconvert.io/mcp/overview)

## Where Offer Suite is different

- Costs are dated. ABConvert's docs cost an order with your product costs, one average shipping cost per order and a fee rule. Offer Suite costs each order at the costs in effect on its date, from a dated ledger. A correction restates past orders in the current view, which experiments use, and the as-recorded view keeps what each order was booked with, so the change is traceable.
- Realized profit is tracked per offer option from the orders themselves: net of refunds, subscription renewals apart, cancelled orders left out and counted separately.
- Nothing goes live until a real Shopify cart charges exactly what the offer promises.
- Offers are documents your agents write through an API, validated before anything reaches Shopify. Your developers can render them anywhere, or a merchant adds the Verified offer theme block and pastes the offer's id, with no developer needed.
- Offer Suite tests offer versions only. A price test is one of them: the challenger charges a lower line price than the catalog, on one-time items, on any Shopify plan, shown at checkout as the product's own price.

## Questions

### Is Offer Suite an ABConvert alternative?

For offers, partly. ABConvert tests prices, shipping, pages, themes and checkout as well as offers, and Offer Suite only builds, verifies and measures offers. If you test themes, pages or checkout, Offer Suite doesn't replace that. If your question is what each offer option earns after costs and renewals, that is what Offer Suite is built for.

### Do both measure profit per visitor?

Yes. ABConvert reports profit per visitor from revenue less product cost, shipping cost and transaction fees, as set in its cost settings. Offer Suite's experiments decide on realized profit per visitor: each arm's first orders, net of refunds, costed from its dated cost ledger.
